Marie Grace Buice, 78, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 12, 1944, the daughter of the late Leon McDaniel Daughety and the late Grace Hill Daughety. She worked for 35 years as a Social Worker, many of those years at Parkway Regional Hospital. She also worked as an aide for Douglas County Board of Education. She was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church where she helped with VBS.
Marie loved tea pots. She had collected numerous tea pots in her lifetime. She also loved her family--especially her grandchildren. As a believer in God she raised her children up to also believe. She was a caring person and was a caretaker for everyone. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, David Christopher Buice.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, WIlliam Robert Buice; her daughters, Sheri (Charles) Brookshire, and Karen (Jeremy) Chambley; grandchildren: William Brookshire, Kathryn Brookshire, Alexandra Brookshire, Mason Chambley, Sophia Chambley, and Emily Chambley.
The family will receive friends at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am at the Historic Heritage Gardens Cemetery in the Fairplay Community with Reverend Michael Shearon officiating.
