Michael “Moe” Gene Bruner, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born November 29, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas. Family and serving God were two of the most important areas of Moe’s life. He was a devoted husband, loving son, brother grandson, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. Moe loved going to Michael’s races and enjoyed being at all the sports events and extracurricular activities of the grandchildren. Moe had retired from the Douglas County School System as a teacher at Lithia Springs High School for 15 years and continued to work as a substitute teacher at Alexander High School, as well as various schools in the community. Devoted to serving his Lord, Moe loved going to church and was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Fellowship.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Cledith and Ingrid (Buhler) Bruner; brothers, Eric Bruner and Pete Bruner; maternal grandmother, Oma Martha; maternal grandfather, PawPaw Peter; and father-in-law, Robert Favors.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 45 years, Linda Bruner; son, Michael G. Bruner, Jr. (Jennifer); daughters, Kristy Isbell and Alicia DeMarco; mother-in-law, Barbara Favors; sister-in-law, LaNette Bruner; grandchildren, Aubrey Brown (Keith), Charlee Bruner, Mollee Bruner, Kash Bruner, Kalee Kennedy, Christian Isbell, Pierce DeMarco, Talya DeMarco and Nick DeMarco; great-grandchild, Waylon Brown; as well as numerous other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, Moe will be laid to rest at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Highway, Mableton, Georgia 30126.
