Hewel “Moe” Parris

Hewel “Moe” Herrin Parris, age 89, of Winston, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. He was born on March 21, 1931 in Addison, Alabama to the late Willis Ewel and Sarah (Turner) Parris. Moe was an entrepreneur, starting his first business in 1972 and at one time owned four businesses including Big Moe Corporation – a suspension repair company for large vehicles. Family was Moe’s main focus in life and he served as a good provider and protector – ensuring his family and loved ones felt safe. Moe was a fun-loving, people person who loved being the center of attention. People who knew him expected to hear “I need the Floor!” He loved entertaining guests in his home alongside his wife, Dolly. Just as he was a strong-willed person, he was also a sweet, generous man who was highly thought of by all who knew him. He loved traveling and RVing with Dolly and visited all 50 states. Moe was a hard worker, but in his spare time he enjoyed poker and was an avid Alabama football fan – “Roll Tide”.

Those left to cherish memory are his beloved wife of 66 years, Dolores “Dolly” (Burleson) Parris; children, Vicki (Chris) Averett, David Keith (Jayna) Parris, Teresa Brittain and Pamela Jean Flynn; nine grandchildren, Brian (Abby) Hunter, Megan (Kale) Crane, Jodi Cleary, Brenna (Brandon) Patterson, Nathan Parris, Tyler “Moe” Parris, Montana Brittain, Marcus Brittain and Brandy (Keith) Hefner; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Praying for all the family in Moe's passing. I will be live-streaming the service as I will be at work doing our accounting end of year and I don't go in crowds because of the virus. May God grant all of you comfort and peace during this time.
