Perry Ray Boyce, 57, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 after a sudden illness. He was born in Waynesville, MO, raised in Liberty County, and had lived in Douglasville over 25 years. He worked as a driver for Penske until his health failed, and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Perry had a love for music that was instinctual. He spoke through his guitar and found peace and fulfillment in his music. In his early years he traveled to Europe with the band Steppenwolf as a guitar player. He continued his love of music his entire life and was always in a band creating his art. He found the love of his life, Aimee, and was blessed with a step-son, Jimi, and together they were blessed with a son, Perry Ray Boyce, II. His family meant everything to him. Perry had some tough roads to travel but never lost his sense of humor and ability to make a joke about anything and everything. His heart was full of love and compassion for everyone. “A voice from our family is gone, a voice we loved is stilled, and a place is vacant in the home which never can be filled.”
Survivors are his wife, Aimee Boyce of Douglasville; two sons, Perry Boyce, II and Jimi Shaw both of Douglasville; parents, Leon and Mayo Boyce of Isle of Wight; sister and brother-in-law, Donna Guyon and Kip of Toledo, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Donald Boyce and Pam of Midway; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
