Mr. Phillip “Phil” Harper, age 62, of Dallas, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. He was born on October 10, 1956 in Atlanta, GA. Phil loved to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and panning for gold. He was a kind, caring, and forgiving man who was very family oriented. There was nothing he loved more than his family. He was determined and worked hard to do his best. Phil was also very interested in the Civil War period.
Preceding him in death were his father, Ted Harper and ‘Big Granny’, Hattie Mae.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Debra Harper; his mother, Joyce Harper; his children, Cody Harper, Allison Vaughn, Megan (Eddie) Jensen, Jeremy (Ryan) Cook-Myett, Adrianne (Jesse) Yandle, and Jason (Jamie) McMillan; his siblings, Chris Harper, Dorothy Westmooreland, and Anita Brown; his grandchildren, Maya, Brady, Ansleigh, Gabriel, Johnathan, Ava, Devin, Autumn, Noah, Elijah, Scotty, Aaliyah, Sera, Luke, and Leia; and numerous other loved ones, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at New Covenant United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 3:00 pm for a memorial service honoring Phil. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
