Mr. Ralph Kay Miller, Jr, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2020. He was born on June 26th, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia. Ralph was one of the best men ever made. He was loving and kind and adored by his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and was able to go on one last hunt where he got his prize turkey. Ralph also enjoyed watching NASCAR and at the time was a Chase Elliot fan. He was able to attend a race in Daytona recently and considered it an item crossed off of his bucket list. In addition to NASCAR, he loved any kind of football. He was an Atlanta Falcons fan and held a Season Pass for 40 years. He was also an Alabama College Football fan.
Ralph admired our service men and women in the military and would always stop to thank them and shake their hand. He was a huge Civil War buff, but really admired the WWII era. Another item he had on his list (that he was unfortunately unable to achieve) was to go to Normandy Beach. He was a member of the NRA and umpired men’s and women’s softball for over 30 years. Ralph was also heavily involved in his community and was an advocate for individuals suffering with addiction. He wanted to help anyone he could overcome that struggle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Miller; his parents, Ralph Kay Miller, Sr. and Joyce Miller; his children, Joe Miller and his wife Jennifer, Krista Miller Tsosie and her husband, Chris, and Ashley Makarevich and her husband, Josh; his grandchildren, Paxton and Aeliana Makarevich; and numerous other loved ones, family, and friends.
The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm. Those who are unable to attend in person, may watch via livestream from the Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Facebook page. The family asks that visitors dress casually.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, www.woundedwarriorproject.org
