OBITUARY

Rayburn Duyane Hardy Sr.

6 September, 194112 February, 2021

Rayburn Duyane Hardy, Sr., age 79, our wonderful husband, father, and Paw Paw entered into his heavenly home with Jesus after his battle with dementia on Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born September 6, 1941 in Centre, Alabama. A hard worker, Rayburn spent his life working a variety of jobs, including welding and more recently, truck driving. However, his true passion was to preach the word of God and care for others. In his spare time, you could find him playing his guitar and singing or enjoying nature. He loved to be outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family and doting on his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his first wife of 43 years, Barbara Jo; a daughter, Karen Teresa; and his parents, A. Thomas Hardy and Odeen (Williams) Hardy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 16 years, Janice (Crawford) Hardy; his children, Kylie Hope, Duyane (Bonnie), LaDonda (Danny), Kim (Donnie), Danny Gibson, and Stephen Gibson; his sisters, Martha Hardy and Gloria (Blake) Saunders; a brother, Leamon (Carolyn) Hardy; his grandchildren, Steven (Kassey), Austin, Candice, Blake, Joseph, Matthew, Noah, Blake, Ethan, Jacob, Coty, Jeremiah, Meghan, and Cameron; numerous great-grandchildren and other loved ones.

The family would also like to personally thank all those who cared for him while he stayed at Douglasville Nursing and Rehab.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm. The burial will take place at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
