

Raymond Claude Parker, Sr., age 84, of Lithia Springs passed away Thursday, May 7 with his wife by his side. He was born in Atlanta, Ga on April 12, 1942. He is the son of the late Mr. Leroy Parker and the late Mrs. Gladys Butler Parker.
Mr. Parker dedicated many years of his life to his work as a mechanic at Capital Cadillac and Heritage Cadillac, where he was known for his strong work ethic and skillful hands. He also took pride in the work he did as an aircraft marshaller for Eastern Airlines.
Outside of work, Mr. Parker was happiest doing what he loved most, building hot rods. His passion for cars and craftsmanship brought him joy and allowed him to share his talents with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in the yard with his beloved weedeater always close by.
He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, mechanical talent, and the simple pleasures he found in life. His presence and dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Parker is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Barbara Parker; his son, Raymond (Mary Ann) Parker Jr; grandchildren, Allison (Hunter) Smith, Avery (Alex) Fair, Austin (Kaytlyn) Cochran; 5 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Angela Parker; son-in-law, Timmy Cochran and his precious Yorkie, Radar. He was preceded in death by his children, Wendy Cochran, Todd Parker, and Melanie Dale and grandson, Corey Parker.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home Wednesday, May 13 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm.
