Melissa, you and I met about 2010 for the second time. I had just gone through breast surgery and you, just like your mom, were kind and talked with me about your own. Now back to the first time. Your mom and I cheered together at DCHS. After graduating we both married and soon started our family. You had just been born and your mom let me borrow her maternity clothes. She has remained one of my few friends that kept in touch from high school. She was such a sweet soul. I am so sorry for your (and the family’s) loss. But you can bet that she’s up in Heaven organizing and she will absolutely still be watching over you

Melissa,
You and your family are in my prayers. My heart was broken when I heard. I was five years older than Toni, but I remember her when she was a baby (she was like a doll to me). Her aunt married my uncle, and from the beginning I thought she was my cousin. She and I laughed after we grew up to find out we weren't really related, but we always considered each other as "adopted" cousins. I have many fond childhood memories of playing with her at her grandparent's house on Fairburn Road and at my aunt and uncle's house. Toni and I stayed in touch through Facebook, text messages and occasional phone calls. There will always be a special place in my heart for her, and for you as well. Toni could always bring a smile to my face, a laugh when I needed one, and her bright light shone for everyone around her.
