

Born on April 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Retta (Shriver) Britton. She married Charles Norman Hicks on July 17, 1944 in Philipsburg. He survives.
Mrs. Hicks was a 1944 graduate of Beechwoods High School and was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Grampian.
She had worked at the Clearfield Riverside Supermarket, Brockway Glass, Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Brockway Citizens.
Mrs. Hicks loved to spoil her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by two sons: N. Wayne Hicks and his wife, LaVeda (Markham) of Grampian and John R. Hicks and his wife, Evelyn (Freemer) of Virginia Beach, VA, and a son-in-law, Charles E. King, four granddaughters, four grandsons, nine great granddaughters, and two great grandsons. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sylvia K. King, a sister, Lydia Webb, and four brothers: Russell, Francis, Harold, and Eugene Britton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Emmit Anderson officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services.
