

Born on July 7, 1930 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Lines) Salada. On June 24, 1956, he married Hazel Yount.. In June, they celebrated 55 years of marriage. She survives.
He served in the United States Army Signal Core during the Korean Conflict.
Jack was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois, the American Legion, and the Oklahoma Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, especially flowers. He loved to travel and spend time with his granddaughters, Sonya and Paige. He was a faithful attendant of their school activities. Jack also worked with the boy scouts for many years.
After serving in Korea, he worked for McIntosh Coal Company and then Fennell and Heberling Plumbing and Heating where he purchased that company and formed a partnership. In 1979 he started his own business, Jack D. Salada Plumbing and Heating, with his wife as secretary and treasurer with both of his sons working with him.
In addition to his wife, Hazel, he is survived by two sons: Donald C. Salada and his wife, Lisa, of Treasure Lake and Gary R. Salada of DuBois; two granddaughters, Sonya and Paige Salada, and two nieces and a nephew. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Salada.
Funeral services will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 875 Sunflower Drive, DuBois on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Barry Folmar officiating.
Friends will be received at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 2-9 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at the church. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
