Beth Ann Poffenbaugh Avila
Beth Ann Avila, 59, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday April 10, 2023.
Beth was born on May 15, 1963, in Mansfield Ohio. She graduated with honors from Ontario High School and BGSU with a BA degree in English. Beth’s career included writing for Victoria’s Secret Catalog, McGraw-Hill, Thirty-One, and for Safelite AutoGlass, from where she had planned to retire.
Beth was a gifted writer. Her beautiful writing skills brought such joy to so many people at her workplace, Safelite, and her beloved Facebook family of friends. Each day, Beth would share positive words of encouragement for everyone to read with their first cup of coffee. One of her final posts was a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote “You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late”.
A few of Beth’s favorite things included the color soft pink and taking a “beauty break” to revel in something elegant, Audrey Hepburn and celebrating “the golden age of Hollywood”, ballerinas, Impressionist art, heavy metal music (…yes!), reading, reading and more reading. On most days Beth read a book – that was her most favored pastime.
Beth was predeceased by her wonderful mother/best friend Barbara Poffenbaugh, who passed away in January 2022. She is survived by her loving children, Ashley and Anthony and her adored kitty Teeny Tiny, her father Richard Poffenbaugh, Debbie & Gary Ubry, Catherine & Cam McLellan, Allison Ubry, Cathy & Patrick & Enzo Testa, along with many cherished friends, cousins & co-workers.
There are not enough words to fully express our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of sympathy, love, and support Beth’s friends have shown to our family during this difficult time of grieving. As one of her kind Facebook friends said, “Beth was always posting beautiful places around the world when she was the beautiful one.”
A tribute will be held at Schoedinger Dublin Funeral Home on Wednesday April 19, 2023, between 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Cat Welfare Columbus, Ohio. Or purchase a book you have always wanted to read and think of Beth.
