Throughout the remainder of her career, Cathy’s passion became patient safety. In the year 2000, she joined Becton Dickinson where she served on the pioneering edge of patient safety, helping hospitals understand medication errors and the impact technology played in downstream processes. In 2002, she joined Siemens Health Services where she continued her passion and was instrumental in developing a Patient Safety service line offering as well as offerings for specimen labeling, transfusion and patient monitoring. After leaving Siemens Health Services in 2014, Cathy obtained her Project Management Institute (PMP) certification and worked extensively in IT healthcare project management. She also consulted on clinical software installations in hospitals across the country.
Cathy was an avid animal lover; she was beloved by six Golden Retrievers throughout her whole adult life. She loved gardening and entertaining friends and family.
