Deborah Anne Day Youngblood was born in Toledo, Ohio, March 28, 1949, the daughter of Willis and Rosemary Day. Debbie passed away October 27, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, following a courageous six year cancer journey.
Debbie devoted her life to serving others in both personal and professional arenas. She held degrees from Miami University, The University of Houston and The Ohio State University. Debbie thoroughly enjoyed her 40 plus years as a career educator: tutoring, teaching, working in Human Resources and Administration and establishing Wellness programs in Texas and Ohio.
As the mother of seven beautiful children and ten grandchildren, Debbie exhibited enthusiasm, energy, and a love for life. She modeled the belief that we are all naturally wise, whole, resourceful and deserve to be treated with honor, dignity and respect just the way we are. These life principles were felt by all who were fortunate to cross Debbie’s path. Debbie’s relationships with her friends and family were some of her greatest treasures.
Debbie had a passion for being active and loved being on the water. She enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding, especially on a warm summer day in Lake Erie. She was also everyone’s favorite walking friend, never letting a little rain or snow hold her back from exercise and good conversation. Her healthy lifestyle carried her through the good and difficult times of her life.
Debbie is survived by her children: Trevor Stephenson, Amie Kurian, and their father Bill Stephenson; Jessica Youngblood, Josh Youngblood, Ashlee Youngblood (Robert Romine), Derrick (Jacki) Youngblood, and Brent Youngblood, and their father Greg Youngblood. Her grandchildren: Milani Epps, Reggie Epps, Parker Youngblood, Paul Youngblood, Alison Kurian, Evelyn Kurian, Darius Youngblood, Serena Romine, Jordan Youngblood, Luke Youngblood. She is also survived by her siblings: Jane (Jack) Koch, Willis (Mandy) Day, and John (Claudia) Day, and their children and grandchildren.
A special thanks to the staff at The James Hospital, Dr. Vasu and her team and all who cared for Debbie during her journey with leukemia.
