Doloris “Dee” Wirtz

Doloris “Dee” Faye Wirtz, 94, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Charles and Anna Winniestaffer. Dee grew up in German Village in Columbus and graduated from Columbus South High School. She met her husband of 64 years, Harold, and raised two sons together, Dale and Karl. Dee enjoyed camping with her family, cooking, crochet, and playing golf. She was involved in many organizations, including a card club, a neighborhood group, TWIG, and the Memorial Tournament as a volunteer.

Dee was very proud of her family and doted on her grandchildren, especially. She was funny and so much fun to be around. Her family recalls that she always kept a clean and neat house.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold; her parents; and siblings, William Winniestaffer, Robert Winniestaffer, Russell Winniestaffer, Charles Winniestaffer Jr, Ann Vaupel, and Doris Lippert. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Dale (Jayne) and Karl (Cindy) Wirtz; grandchildren, Adam, Kate, Mitch, Caroline, and Ethan; and her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Georgia, and Walden.

Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive where a visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Ohio Food Bank or another charity of your choice.
