Dorothy E. Post

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, to Albert and Hazel DePree, Dorothy grew up in New Jersey before attending Ohio University in Athens, where she studied education. She went on to teach 5th and 6th grade for many years in both Ohio and New Jersey, touching the lives of countless students with her patience, kindness, and dedication.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry, and her sister, Hazel DePree Warren.

She is survived by her two children, Harry Douglas Post (Donna) of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, and Lori E. Hutchison (Brian) of Gahanna, OH; her grandchildren, Cory Hutchison (Juliet) of Wasilla, AK, and Kellilyn Gentile (Nick) of Westerville, OH; and her four great grandchildren, John, Abigail, Benjamin, and Savannah.

Dorothy was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She made friends easily and cherished the many relationships she built throughout her life. Her love of the ocean, travel, golf, and lively conversation was well known to all who spent time with her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Schoedinger Dublin; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017.
