Gay Rae James, born August 13, 1950, was liberated on December 26, 2025, at the age of 75 after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease. Gay was a flower child and kind-hearted rebel. She was a friend of cats, rabbits, and other animals. She gave more than she received. She had a way with soup and grilled cheese that cannot be replicated. Her advice was “lots of butter,” but it just isn’t the same. She was a best friend to many. And she will be missed desperately. Gay leaves behind her husband, Lawrence James; her eldest daughter Alicia James and son-in-law Rajiv Malhotra; her youngest son Alex James and daughter-in-law Erin Swarthout and their son Maxwell. A celebration of life is to be held on March 14, 2026, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Grafton Park Apartments community house at 2924 Mark Andrew Drive, Dublin, OH 43017. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Cat Welfare Association at http://catwelfareassoc.org/donate.
