

Henry A. Baker aged 103 died on December 19, 2025 in Dublin, Ohio. He was born December 1922 in Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England to Pastor and Mrs. H.A. Baker. Went to Woodbridge School – Specialized in Mathematics, Geography and History... and in Sports – Rugby football, English Cricket and Tennis.
Attended Intense Training Sessions in Engineering Drawing and Design in the First Garden City of Letchworth, Herts, England. Linked with the Baptist Church, where he met Mary, a charming young lady. In 1943 was accepted by General Motors – Delco, London, as Leading Draughtsman. In spite of the move, their relationship continued to develop, and they were married in 1944 at the Letchworth Baptist Church.
In 1952, joined Ranco Ltd. Newhouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland as Chief Engineer and in 1959 was promoted to General Manager. Followed by Senior Management positions in Germany and Spain. Moved to Epsom Surrey to be near London, Heath Row Airport for weekly travel to the European assigned areas. In 1968, emigrated to the USA with his wife Mary and daughter Janette. Initially appointed by Ranco Inc. (Parent Co.) as Manager of Far East operations… then as Corporate Executive VP of International Operations in 1976 by Ranco Inc., a position he held until his retirement in 1988.
Chose to live in Upper Arlington… where we built a ‘Japanese Inspired’ house. Became active member in the Lane Ave Baptist Church. For our retirement years moved to Dublin, Ohio. Became active member of Dublin Baptist Church with the memory of serving the Lord in many places around the World. Also mainly spent the winter months in our Floridian condo near St. Petersburg… and in Clearwater. Became active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater.
Survived by his wife Mary of 80 years, son Alan (UK) and Janette… grandchildren in England, Eliza Jane, Harry, Jazma and in the USA… Joseph, Michael, Robert, Angela and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 29th at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 12:30pm until the time of service.
