Kathleen Allyn Johnson

She was born on February 10, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Robert J. Barber and Esther (Lyman) Barber.

She graduated from Perrysburg High School in Perrysburg, Ohio, in 1962 and went on to attend the Ohio State University in 1967, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology. Kathleen worked at the university for two years before joining the LabCorp team for 42 dedicated years.

Even after her retirement in 2010, Kathleen’s love of her work never faded, and she’d often be found deep into some genealogical research or study. She also loved knitting for her family and getting into her favorite books. She found great joy in traveling with the Ohio State Alumni and her fondness for the beach will always endure.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her sister, Dawn (Barber) Cochrane. She is survived by her husband of many wonderful years, Thomas, whom she met at The Ohio State University, while the two were both enrolled as students. The two got married on April 6, 1969. Kathleen is also survived by her two daughters, Stephanie (Brandon) Culver and Jennifer Johnson; her sister, Karen (Barber) Aldrich; grandchildren, Lydia and River Culver, and countless friends.

A public visitation for Kathleen will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
