Lawrence “Larry” Frederick Murlin Jr. passed away on September 25, 2025, in Plain City, Ohio, at the age of 81. Born on January 9, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Lawrence F. Murlin Sr. and Lilah Mae Murlin.
Larry enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry, retiring from Brower Insurance in Dayton. He was proud to have served as the past president of the Insurance Association of Dayton. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an active member of St. Brigid of Kildare Church and the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to community.
A true lover of life, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures – bowling with friends, afternoons on the golf course, and sharing a good meal surrounded by loved ones. His magnetic personality, warm smile, and generous spirit made it so he never met a stranger. Everyone he met, he loved and everyone that knew Larry loved him as well
Above all, Larry was devoted to his family. He often spoke of his wife, Christine “Chris” A. Murlin, as the love of his life. For him, it was love at first sight, and that love never wavered. His favorite memory was the day they met, a moment he cherished for the rest of his life.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; his children, Cheryl R. Eichner (Mike) and Charles L. Murlin (Amanda); and his grandchildren, William Eichner, Daniel Eichner, Haley Murlin, Caroline Murlin, and Andrew Murlin.
