

He was born on August 14, 1923 in Duluth.
Chet was a graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was employed as a Bricklayer with U.S. Steel for 30 years.
Chet enjoyed bowling, golfing, fast pitch softball, and watching his grandkids play sports.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, West Duluth American Legion post 71, and the West Duluth Moose Lodge post 1478.
Chet was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle; and sisters, Mary, Edna and Bernice.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Chet Jr. (Nancie); daughter, Pam (Keith) Halvorson, both of Duluth; grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsay) Thomas, Christie Thomas, Tom (Melissa Towns) Halvorson, Steven (Bonnie Pfeffer) Halvorson, Amanda (Josh) Finner; and great grandchildren, Mara and Mason Thomas, and Kendell Halvorson.
Chet will be dearly missed by all, including his dog, Scooter.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church, 721 N 57th Ave W, in Duluth. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
