Finley was one of my brother Edwards best friends when we were growing up.They skated together in the local"ice follies". Finley was always the perfect gentleman then and in the times we ran into each other thru the years. He will surely be missed.  Bill Andersen   Duluth

Finley was such a great guy. I worked with him at the then-Daily Telegram. His desk was next to mine. He was fun to work with. I was just out of college when I started at the newspaper and pretty green. His assistance and guidance helped me a lot. 
My sincerest condolences to his family. He was a great man and good friend. He is leaving too early.

Finley was a wonderful friend during his years with the Duluth Playhouse.  He will be missed by his friends and family.  Sincerest condolences.

Charles, and family... I never met you, but Finley was a great man I respected as a journalist and friend when I lived in the area. I kept up with him on FB. I'm so glad he had a full rich life and relationship with you, and the family he so loved. May the memories you all share help soften the loss you all experience.

Chuck my thoughts and prayers are with you as you now journey alone without your love.  I will never forget the love and compassion that Finley had for his fellow man.  I was just telling friends about the time you and Finley came to the cities and we went to the State Fair and then did the cookout in the back yard with candles. Rest in peace, Finley...you were a magnificent professional journalist during your impressive 41 year career with the Superior Evening Telegram.  And, as one of the many thousands who enjoyed your theater company's performances at the Shack Dinner Theaters, I say "thanks for the memories".  Indeed, you have left a legacy that has made our community a better place.  Until we meet again...

My dear Fin. What a shock to learn you have left us. So many fond memories of building your stage sets at the Shack. You would tell me what you wanted them to look like using that wonderful artistic sense that you had and together we would create 3D escapes for the audiences.  And I'll always be thankful for the parts you cast me in and for your inspirational direction. RIP my dear friend, RIP. To Chuck and the rest of the family, Sharon and I offer our sincere condolences.

I first met Fin when we both worked at the Bridgeview Motor Inn, back in the late seventies; he was a very witty , kind & gentle person. We ran into ea. other many times over the yrs.; he did some dinner theaters at Cronstroms when we owned it, so we got to see he & Chuck a lot. He will be missed! Our deepest sympathy to all who loved him.

Fin:  You have touched so many people with what you have done in your life.
You have given many memories to so many.  I enjoyed working with you in the plays we did together, and the Dinner Theatre you created at Spirit Mountain.
I will miss you, and so many others will also.  Thank You

I always hear jameson when i walk thru the door, the loss of ur presence behind that voice will be sadly missed! Rip finners!!

Finley and I acted, played, sang and laughed together in many Duluth Playhouse shows. We even had our own small group that traveled around the area with a Broadway revue, and had the time of our lives. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers, sweet friend.  We will miss you.

I remember walking to Bryant School with Finley for years, and then going on to high school and riding the bus.  We were friends a long time but after graduation from high school, lost touch with him, when I moved to Racine, Wi  Saw one play with him once when in town however.  I also read some of the things in the Superior Telegram as my sister Vi would save them.  A gentle person who I am sure had a myriad of friends who will miss him.  I pray for peace to those who have lost a dear family member and friend.
