Helen Oberg Swartz

She married Everett Swartz in 1958, had four children and later three beautiful granddaughters. She worked for many years in the accounting field for Everett’s Fuel & Service, Advancestar Communications, Skyline Motors, and as a self-employed computer consultant. In 1988 she met Herb Frederick and began a new life full of adventure. They established a winter home in Florida and traveled extensively. They enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home and cabin. He made her laugh. She especially cherished the time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were the light of her life.

Helen was fun to be with, kind hearted and lit up the room with her smile. She loved music, angels, flowers, and the water. Some of her fondest memories were at the beach, stories around the campfire, time spent at their home on the Estero River, and walking the Rose Garden. She always looked forward to family gatherings with all her children during the summer.

She is preceded in death by her parents and Herb Frederick.

Helen is survived by her children, Debbie (Tim Sander), David (Lori), Holly (Kipp Porath) and Heidi Swartz.; the father of her children Everett Swartz; her granddaughters, Jennifer, Jessica, and McKenzie; sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Aho and Nancy Marble; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by Herb’s family; brother, Harold (Ruth); sons, David, Thomas (Mary), Scott (Terry) Frederick; and many grand and great-grandchildren.

A Gathering of Family & Friends 11:00 am until the 12:00 pm Memorial Service Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Waters of Life Lutheran Church, Duluth.
