Joyce A.Bailey (Sylvester), 92, of Proctor passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at New Perspectives Senior Living in Cloquet. She was born October 23, 1925 in Duluth to David and Rhoda (Eales)Sylvester.
Joyce had a heart of gold and was loved by all. Her family was everything to her. Her door was always open and she welcomed all into her home. She enjoyed her company, no matter the length of stay. Her laugh was contagious and she was the most generous and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Joyce's "mutties" as she called them, were the sparkle in her eyes. She lived for spending time with them and catered to each and every one of them. Joyce loved "bumming" with family and friends. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and sewing. She also enjoyed going to grandkids and great-grandkids school events and programs.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; daughter, Sharon Carroll; son-in-law, Tom Helquist; sister, Clyle; brother-in-law, Bud Schultz, and niece, Janet DeGolier.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Karon Helquist of Proctor, June (Paul) Sullivan of Eveleth, Kandice (Richard) Zinter of Moose Lake; 15 grandchildren: Julie, George, Terry, Raymond, Kerry, Kami, Kelli, Ryan, Jamie, Ben, Mike, Doreen, Richie, Jeanine and Chrissy; also many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dan Amell; a niece, Carol (Ron) Schultz; and her best friends, Betty Kuklis and Judy Ophus.
A heartfelt thank you to New Perspectives for the wonderful care she received while living there; especially to Amy, Diane and Tara. We are forever grateful for all of you.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 with gathering 1 hour prior at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. West, Duluth. Private inurnment at Oneota Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice.
