

Lucille Marie Anderson, 87, of Duluth’s “West End” passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born on December 13, 1928 to Antonio and Josephine Guzzo in Duluth.
Lucille was raised on “Goat Hill”. She married Donald I. Anderson in 1960 and was married for over 25 years until his passing. Lucille worked as a waitress for over 30 years at The Western Café.
She was a long time member of the VFW women’s auxiliary. Lucille enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and cooking spaghetti for her family gatherings.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; four sisters; three brothers; great-grandson, Trevor; son-in-law, Larry Dougherty Sr.; and daughter-in- law, Laura Avery.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Susan Dougherty, Thomas Avery, Kathy (David Peters) Watczak, and Judy (Paul) Lund all of Duluth; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Arvold for all of his wonderful care and the staff at Diamond Willow and St.Luke’s Hospital for the care Lucille received.
Private family services were held. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
