Mary Ellen Meyers

Mary Ellen was a 1950 Deer River High School graduate.

She was employed with Paine Webber for over 25 years, retiring in 1994 as an Operations Manager.

Mary Ellen was a very active member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild, was a volunteer at the church library, participated in Sandwiches and Scripture and was part of their book club.

Mary Ellen enjoyed reading and was always looking forward to learning something new as a student at the University for Seniors. She was very proud of her Finnish heritage.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her three sisters, Esther Cartwright, Lois Mackley and Susan Mackley and a brother-in-law, Ted Mackley.

She is survived by her three sons, Bradley of Virginia, Bryan (Renee) of Duluth and Bruce (Becki) of Hawthorne, WI; three grandchildren; Aaron of Mpls., Ethan of Duluth and Sarah of Hawthorne, WI; two brothers, Aro Matt (Sharon) Saari of Nashwauk and Gus Saari of Deer River; and two brothers-in-law, Bob Cartwright and Art Mackley both of Deer River.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service Sunday, Dec., 12th, 2010 in Concordia Lutheran Church. 2501 Woodland Avenue. Rev. David Tryggestad officiating. Memorials in Mary Ellen’s name may be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church.
