

Muriel graduated Denfeld High class of ’41. She worked as a telephone operator, was a PBX operator at the Air Force base, and 15 years as a manager in the childrens department at Target. Muriel married Henry “Ham” Burger on March 5, 1949 in Duluth, and together they raised their two daughters. She enjoyed gardening, her sewing club, dancing and travelling with her husband, and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry; infant son Thomas; brothers Robert, Burton, and Raymond Olson, sister Dolores Olson; special family dogs Furri, Fuzzi, Whiskey, and Sox.
Muriel will be missed by daughters Patricia Burger of Minneapolis, MN, Barbara (Robert) Czech of Henderson, NV; grandchildren Crystal, Christopher, and Cory Czech; brother Ronald (Mary) Olson, sister Margaret Johnson of Anoka, MN; “adopted daughter” Gail (Robert) Wilkens of Minneapolis, MN; and her special grandpuppy Jamie.
Visitation will begin 10 a.m. one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday February 22, 2011 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd., Duluth MN. Interment to take place at Oneota cemetery. A special “Thank You” to the caregivers of Birch and Willows units at Chris Jensen for their care and compassion provided to mom and our family.
