

He was raised in Virginia, MN and when he was 16 years old he enlisted and served in the Navy for 9 years. He served most of his career on the USS Midway aircraft carrier. After serving his country he came to Duluth where he worked for Zalk Joseph’s for over 17 years as a welder. On June 18, 1966 he married the love of his life, Adeline Ziells in Duluth. Together they raised two children and made their home in Proctor. Norman retired at age 80 from Harbor City Taxi Company which he owned and operated for over 30 years.
Norman was a long time member of the Proctor Moose Lodge and the VFW.
His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline; sister-in-law, Louise McNeil; brother-in-law, Edwin Ziells; nephews, Gerald R. McNeil and Michael Ziells; and son-in-law, Todd Huberty.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Charmain Huberty of Hermantown; son, Raymond (Leah Bangs) McNeil of Duluth; grandchildren, Rachel, Natalie, and Dominic; brother, Gerald L. McNeil; and many nephews and friends.
