Robert Aaron Johnson

Blondie grew up in West Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1944. He was in the Army in World War II, stationed in the Philippine’s.

He married Millie Bruich on October 3, 1953. Blondie worked for the DM&IR and retired from there in 1986.

Blondie enjoyed golf, baseball, and especially UMD Hockey. He and Millie were UMD hockey parents, Blue Line Club Members, and longtime season ticket holders.

He was a member of Norton Park United Methodist Church.

Blondie was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Millie.

He is survived by his sons, Gary (Sharon) and Daron; grandchildren, Lindsey (Eric) Mundy, Stacy (Chad) Kustermann, Blake Johnson, and Tyler Johnson; great-grandchildren, Axel and Elin Mundy; sister, Lois Reed of Colorado;sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sophie and Keith Wallinder of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many friends and family who have been so wonderful to Blondie, along with the staff at St. Ann’s and Golden Oaks.

Visitiation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Monday, June 6, 2016 at Norton Park United Methodist Church, Duluth.
