It is with the heaviest of hearts that our family announces the passing of Charlene Henry, on September 25, 2025, after a brave & courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully with her family by her side & with a heart full of love.
Charlene was born January 27, 1951 in Vancouver, she grew up in Alberta and moved to Victoria in 1968. She married Lorne in 1969 and began their family. They settled in Duncan BC in 1973. Her next chapter in life was spent bowling, curling, volunteering at the Duncan Eagles Hall, travelling to Mexico, hiking the Nepali Coast in Kaui, running in the TC10K races - she did her best to live her life to the fullest. Charlene & Tom met in 2001 and married in 2003. They spent many winter holidays in the sun & their summers in Honeymoon Bay. Charlene loved the sun, reading, walking, lunching & going to the Hospice Movie nights with her friends. And oh, did she love her daughters unconditionally.
She retired after 33 years managing the Cowichan Internist Office to take on her new favourite role as Grandma. A role she took very seriously & with so much fun. She never declined an opportunity to spend time with her grandsons.
Charlene is predeceased by her mother Ethel, her father Bryce, her brothers Bryan & Terry, & her big sister Glennyce. She is survived by her siblings: Stettler (Joanne), Elden, Carey (Corinne) & Zana (Carlos) & many nieces & nephews. She is immensely missed by her daughters Sharon (Mark & Melea) & Tamara (Ryan), the joys of her life Mason & Seamus, and her loving husband Tom. She touched the lives of so many and has numerous friends & family who we know share in our loss.
Charlene, together with her family, would like to thank Dr Pewarchuck, Dr Watt, the excellent care from the Palliative Care team, the wonderful CDH Chemo nurses, all of her amazing group of women she was lucky to call her friends and her family for their love & support.
“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”
