Elsie May Thera

On June 15th, 2026, our beloved mother, Elsie May Thera (nee Jackman), age 84, went to be with her beloved husband, David Victor Thera, who predeceased her on February 1 2025.

Elsie was born in Noranda, Quebec, on June 28th 1941. At the age of four, she moved with her parents Joseph, Kate and brother Joe Jackman to Victoria, British Columbia and later settled in Sooke, British Columbia, where she spent the remainder of her childhood.

Elsie married the love of her life, David Thera, on November 28th, 1959. Together they shared a loving marriage and raised three children.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Colleen Courts (Darryl), Sandra Mallinson (Dave) and Douglas Thera. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Cameron Courts, Corey Courts (Samantha, Jack, and Sawyer); Kyle Courts; Devon Courts (Kari, Carter, and Cassian); Giovanni D'Onofrio (Lanaya); Megan Raposo (Josh, Noah and Hudson); Nicholas D'Onofrio and Trinity Mallinson.

She is also survived by her in laws, Carol Thera, Denis Thera (Matilda); Brenda Ballash (Allan); Leora Sverdahl (Keith); Irving Cosgrove, and numerous nieces and nephews.

As per Elsie's request, there will no service.
