

Ethel May Clements, 89, a 29 year resident of Shawnigan Lake/Duncan, BC and a former 31 year resident of Olympia/Lacey, WA died of natural causes Monday, 1/16/2017 in Duncan, BC Canada.
She was born May 5, 1927, to Harry and Elizabeth Smith in Moose Jaw, Sask. Canada. She graduated from high school and received her Registered Nurse degree from Moose Jaw General Hospital.
She married Lloyd E. Clements on 2/18/1950 in Moose Jaw and were married 49 years, till his passing on 1/30/2000.
Ethel was a retired Registered Nurse who taught Licensed Practical Nurses. She taught at the old St. Peter Hospital and when it closed, she was asked to set up and run the LPN program at South Puget Sound Community College, Olympia, WA, untill she retired in 1981.
Ethel was an avid curler, golfer, bowler and enjoyed traveling. She loved to do machine embroidery and knitting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving, caring, giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed greatly by all.
She is survived by her; son, Edward Clements of Cobble Hill, BC; two daughters, Karen Fry of Olympia and Leona Thornton of Lacey, WA; five granddaughters; one great granddaughter; and four great grandsons.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers and three sisters.
