July 29, 1964 – June 30, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of James.
For those who have not had the pleasure of knowing Jim, here he is. He went by many names. Jim, Jimmy, Dad, Nude, Unc J, BIL, buddy, friend, whatever he may have been called it was always something good, kind and positive because that's the kind of man he was.
Born and raised in Duncan, BC, he spent many years working in the community as a floor mechanic, where his great personality shone through positively and influenced others.
He was loved and very respected. His smile, his personality was so infectious to everyone around him. Whether it be downtown playing Keno or at Timmy's drive-thru even at work. It didn't matter, he was noticed. His kindness never went unnoticed he was the most unselfish person. Jim was the one that would hand a pack of cigarettes the guy beside him on the street or go buy a sandwich and just give it away because he noticed somebody needed it more than he did. If you ever hear the name Jim Lachman you will only ever hear anything nice because that's exactly what he was, nice. Jim enjoyed his time at camp with all the friends he made. So many shared stories, Doug, Mike and Joe, just to name a small few as there are too many to list. He enjoyed camping, walking with his girls and his pup Rosa.
Jim leaves behind his parents, Elinor and Wilfred, brothers, George (Lynnea), Ron, Larry (Shannon), three beautiful daughters, Kayla (Braydon), Jayme (Brody) and Leanne, his love and best friend of 30 years, Fauna and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His girls were his absolute world and life. He was proud.
He is going to be so forever missed forever talked about forever remembered forever loved. Jim can now rest at peace. Your legacy will live in your soon to be born grandson Jett James Taylor, who will be named in honor of you. The devastation and loss of you goes beyond words. The angels are lucky to have you. Forever in everyone's heart.
There will be a Celebration of Life held in August, 2025, in the Cowichan Valley. Please reach out to a close family member for more information regarding the place, date and time. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart Foundation.
