Born and raised in Penticton, BC.
Long time resident of Port Coquitlam.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Clifford Taylor on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Nanaimo, BC, at the age of 86. Jim was a kind, thoughtful, and deeply private individual who will be sorely missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted sister, Roberta, and his nephews, Bob, Stu, and Wayne.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Jim went on to a career as a food inspector for the federal government and earned the respect of his colleagues and the community for his dedication and expertise. He spent a number of years after retirement volunteering in support of the VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.
Travel was a lifelong passion for Jim, and he spent a lot of time exploring the world, accumulating a wealth of experiences and memories.
For many years, Jim shared his life with his beloved companion, Allan Clutchy, who predeceased him in 2019. They travelled the globe and enjoyed a quiet life.
Jim's gentle nature and compassion extended beyond his human family to the plant and animal kingdom, which he cherished deeply. He loved his garden and cats and basset hound Brie. His family, friends, and community will remember him for his kindness, his generosity, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.
We take comfort in the memories of Jim's life, and we will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.
