Kenneth Frederick Thom

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 6, 1932, Ken eventually made his way to Duncan, where he built a life filled with family, friendships, and wonderful memories.

A projectionist by trade, Ken and his wife Fay ran the Duncan Drive-In Theatre from 1968 to 1977. After four years in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where they operated theatres, Ken and Fay returned to Duncan in 1981, where they ran the Caprice Theatre together until their retirement. Predeceased by his wife, Fay, on December 10, 2019, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. Ken is survived by his daughters, Allison (Terry) Renner, Lilis Hall, and granddaughter Madalyn Hall, who will carry his love, his wisdom, and his memory with them always.

Ken will be deeply missed by his family and his many longtime friends, who were a constant presence in his life and became like family to him. To those friends who stood by Ken throughout the years, our family is deeply grateful for your friendship, love, and support. Kens kindness, generosity, and willingness to help touched the lives of so many. He was the kind of person who always made sure everyone around him was taken care of, often putting the needs of others before his own. His family meant everything to him, and caring for them was something he did with love and devotion throughout his life.

Whether you knew Ken for a lifetime or had only met him for a moment, he always seemed to have a story to tell. His humour, his kindness, and his gentle spirit will be remembered by all who had the chance to know him.

His presence may no longer be beside us, but the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with us forever.
