Lorraine Peters (nee Vader)

Lorraine passed away peacefully in the company of family October 9th, 2025. Wife to Paul Chapman (deceased 1965) and later Earl Peters, mother to Mark and Lynn, Grandmother to Brandi, Justin, Peter, Katie, Haley, Stepan and Alina, and Great-Grandmother (Gma) to Emily, Alicia, Leo, Luca, Eliana and Ava. Lorraine grew up in Ontario, but most of her life was lived in Nova Scotia. Although she was living in BC when she passed, her heart had never really left Nova Scotia. It was 'down home' where she made the memories that would endure for a long lifetime, of laughter with friends, raising children and working at Sears for a living. Her kindness was eternal, her generosity carefree and her baking legendary; she was the kind of person who would invite a stranger home to dinner on short acquaintance and send them on their way with a pie or a loaf of banana bread. Her integrity, character and humour were a lifetime inspiration to her children, especially her daughter, who spent much of her recent retirement years providing comfort and support to her mom. Lorraine’s family and friends grieve for ourselves even as we celebrate her release.
