Mom passed peacefully with family by her side at the privileged age of 86. She was born in Vancouver British Columbia to Glyn and Jean Thomas.
She is predeceased by her husband Sebastian Magri, her parents and many siblings. She will join her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Duncan British Columbia.
She is survived by her 3 loving children Diane Magri, Brian Magri and Pamela MacGregor (Wade). She also had the honor of raising 4 beautiful daughters Shirley Magri, Linda Kingston, Marlene Cartwright and Janet Williams, along with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brother Morgan Thomas (Thelma) and Sister Heather Miciuk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom loved all her grandchildren, always taking the time to laugh, play and had treats on hand. Throughout the years she took in all the kids’ friends and considered them family.
Mom moved to Vancouver Island in 1967 with dad and their 7 children and made it home. She was always very busy raising her family. She never drove but you would often see her walking with a loved one or on her own. She was known as the Avon lady for 16 years and loved what she did. It was more of a coffee gab than anything. She was our rock and provided all with a comforting loving home. In her later years she resided at The Meadows in Duncan and loved her time there, making many friends. We are so grateful for the staff and support. She enjoyed her weekly visits to Providence Farm for many years, enjoying her own garden, crafts, visits with the horses and a delicious meal. We would like to thank Providence Farm for always making her feel so special. Mom had a very dear friend, Diane Dyke for many years and loved their Saturday visits. She was welcomed into the MacGregor family and spent many special occasions with Dennis and Jackie and their family.
Our mother will be dearly missed, but we know she will always be with us
The Magri family would also like to thank all the staff at CDH 2nd floor for their kindness and support and DR. Fernando for his honesty and comforting words.
Mom loved to sing, and through her final hours, many songs were sung by her family at her bedside. (She really was our sunshine)
“Mom” you watched us take our first breath; we watched you take your last.
You will never be forgotten and always loved.
A family gathering will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to Providence Farms.
