It is with sadness we announce the end of a long life filled with love of family. Mom’s passing was both sudden and peaceful.
Born and raised in Nanaimo, mom moved to Vancouver to raise her family and then moved back to her beloved Vancouver Island as soon as Dad retired. To her it really was “the Best Place on Earth.”
A lifetime member of the Eastern Star Lodge a part time participant with the C.P.R.B.C. Coasters Club and an extremely social person, Mom treasured her friends and relations. Never one to be shy about expressing her opinions, she could often be heard to say that “in her life she had seen the best of it” and that “ if a woman had been in charge, the world wouldn’t be in the mess it is today”.
Mom was predeceased by Dad (Jimmy) and her grandson Stephen, and is lovingly remembered by her son Alan (Kathleen) daughter Margaret (Barrie) and grandchildren Carolyn (Andy), Robyn (Graham) and Peter (Becky).
No service by request, in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favourite charity would be appreciated.
