Pierina Vicenzina Nardino

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our sweet mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pierina Nardino.

Pierina was born in Treviso, Italy, on October 19, 1930. She was the youngest of twelve children. Pierina immigrated to Canada in May 1955 where Giovanni Nardino was patiently waiting for her arrival. Pierina and Giovanni were married soon after. They made their new home together in Honeymoon Bay. Pierina was a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother, and was very excited to become a great-grandmother in April 2024.

Pierina had many talents. She was an amazing cook, winemaker, seamstress, knitter and quilter. She was an outstanding gardener, raised chickens, rabbits and even caught more fish than Giovanni when out fishing!

Pierina was predeceased by son Glen (December 1973), and husband Giovanni (June 2015). Survived by son John Nardino (Terri), grandchildren Travis Nardino (Jordan), Jaleesa Lecours (Guillaume) and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Lecours.

The Nardino family would like to thank the staff at Cairnsmore Place for the wonderful care Pierina has received for the past four years. Thank you also to Dr. Gallagher for the special care keeping Pierina comfortable to the end. We will always be grateful!
