Yvonne Jeane Riehl (nee McDonald) born October 6, 1934 passed away peacefully June 20, 2026 in Duncan B.C. Yvonne is predeceased by husband Donald Gerald Riehl, parents Thomas and Gertrude (nee Gilmore) McDonald and sister Barbara McLuckie. Yvonne moved to Victoria from Flin Flon, Manitoba to be with Don in 1952 when he joined the navy. Survived by their children Barbara Joan (Joe), Doug (Sylvia) and Bonita (Craig) and grandchildren Ryan (Eli), Justin, Shelby (Jon) and sister Patti (McDonald) Anderson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. When her children were old enough Yvonne went back to school and achieved her teaching degree. She taught at Langford Elementary later known as Ruth King Elementary. Yvonne and Don travelled the world together. She enjoyed camping, curling, gardening and being with family. Special thanks to the Hamlets extended care 2nd floor staff for their wonderful care of Mom. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C or charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
