Gary Dean Ewing went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He now walks among the angels pain-free in a place where peace is abundant and joy is unending.
Gary was born August 5, 1961, in Denver, Colorado. Shortly afterward, the family moved back home to Texas.
He graduated from Duncanville High School in 1980 and worked as an automotive mechanic the majority of his life. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dallas for 39 years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time at his grandparent’s farm. He also adored his many nieces and nephews and they, in turn, adored him.
Gary had a mechanical ability few people possess, but that is not what set him apart from others. Gary was a living example of service to others before self. He was proof that one doesn’t need to be rich or famous to impact lives. The world is a better place because he lived and those fortunate enough to know him are better for it. Gary will be remembered for his benevolent spirit and generosity.
Preceded in death by his father, Helmut Quiram; Grandparents: Helmut and Amanda Quiram and Henry and Meta Rueffer. Gary is survived by his mother, Erna Quiram; brother, Tony Quiram and wife Teri; and sisters, Taffy Patison and husband Mark; Linda Daniels; Tammy Steward and husband Jerry; Dorothy Mollins and husband Clyde; Karla Brower and husband John. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, DeSoto. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary’s honor to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Dallas.
