Delores Ann Crane

Ms. Crane was a founding member of South Erwin Baptist Church where she served 70 plus years. She was a 1952 graduate of Erwin High School. Ms. Crane went to work at Terry Hill and Wellons Candy Company. She married David Crane of Erwin in 1957. She was a wonderful Air Force wide, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known as “Ma” or “Snooter" to most that loved her. She was a woman of great faith and having a servant’s heart for her family, church, and community.

Ms. Crane was preceded in death by her husbands of 57 years, William David Crane Sr., her parents Alto and Bertha Dodd, and her sister-in-law and best friend Sue Hawley Crane.

She is survived by her son, William David Crane, Jr., and wife Pam, of Dunn, NC: a granddaughter, Bethany Crane Teachey, and husband Braxton, of Smithfield, NC; grandsons, William David Crane, III, and wife Amber, of Panama City, FL, and Derek Wayne Benson, and wife Amanda, of Benson, NC; great-grandchildren, Beckett Teachey, Brewer Teachey, Sawyer Crane, Emery Crane, Olivia Crane, and Halle Jo Benson; and her loving Yorkie Poo “Mylee Mae”.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at South Erwin Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2024 at South Erwin Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Erwin Memorial Park.
