She was born in Pasquotank, North Carolina on October 29, 1950 to the late John Elwood Luton and Ernestine Meads Luton.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her Infant Son: David James Fletcher.
Elaine was a hard worker and strived to be self sufficient. She was known for "knowing everything" because there was not much that she didn't know at least "a little something" about. She was very intelligent to say the least and for what she didn't know (very little) she made up for it with wit and spunk! Elaine knew there was little in life better than family and a good laugh! She definitely laughed her way through this life, making her time here full of fun and many memories, as she was the ultimate prankster! Yes! The only thing that Mrs. Elaine loved more than a good laugh was a good laugh at someone else's expense, especially those she was closest to who knew her weird and relentless sense of humor. Her daughter can recall one of her favorite jokes that her mother played, which was on her grandfather. She had taken a leash and manipulated it in a way that it looked like there was a dog attached (nothing was there) and had given it to her grandfather to take for a walk (and he did with good humor)! Elaine left behind the kind of memories that are worth more than gold as she was one of a kind. She wasn't all work and jokes though! She also had this huge soft spot in her heart...for animals! She loved all creatures furry and sweet. Especially her three beloved canine companions: Pudding, Pumpkin and Little Brother! She also loved horses and had spent many years raising them. She lived her life much like the wild horses; her life could never be replicated for it was unique and rare but yet so free and untamed. She will be sorely missed but remembered always, especially when someone has a good trip and fall......or someone takes a seat at the dinner table only to find a whoopee cushion?
