Leona Register Henry

Leona Register Henry, 91, died peacefully at Haven of Rolesville, NC on May 31, 2014. She was a resident at Lynn's Home in Raleigh since 2010. Born September 15, 1922 she lived in Dunn, NC and resided on South Orange Ave. for 58 years. She was a homemaker and then worked for Erwin Mills for several years before receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification and was employed as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a faithful member of Gospel Tabernacle Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle O. Henry owner and operator of Henry's Body Shop in Dunn, NC and eight brothers and sister, Carl Register, Gus Register, Dan Register, Anna Ives, Pearl Temple, Mearle Phillips, Elizabeth Davis and Cora Yarborough. Survivors include children: Earlene Henry Whaley and husband Joe Whaley of Rocky Mount, NC, Geraldine Henry Hardison and husband Ralph Hardison of Asheboro, NC, Pamela Henry Norton and husband Robert Norton of Creedmoor, NC, Richard Henry and wife Christine Henry of Cary, NC. 10 Grandchildren: Andi Whaley Kristyak, Raleigh, NC, Shrei Whaley Moore, Charlotte, NC, Teresa Whaley Smith, Chapel Hill, NC, Debbie Hardison Bohlmann, Winston-Salem, NC, Amanda Hardison Shore, Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Hardison Walters, Durham, NC, Wiley Jackson, Greensboro, NC, Paul Jackson, Clayton, NC, Christopher Henry, Oak Island, NC, and Tom McCain, Smithfield, NC. She was a loving "Nana" to 23 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-Law: Dorothy Henry Woodall of Charlotte, NC The family will receive friends Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Cromartie Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn, NC. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel at the Funeral Home, 401 West Cumberland St., Dunn, NC. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery on South McKay Ave., Dunn, NC.
