Lester was born November 22, 1950 in Chesapeake, Virginia the son of the late Lester C. Bland and Cora
Lee Shaw Bland and is preceded in death by his wife, Monica Denise Bland and his son Eric Bland.
He is was retired from the U.S. Army with over 26 years of service retiring as a SFC. He pulled two tours in Vietnam, He received many military medals for his accomplishments.
After his military career he became a long distance truck driver.
He is survived by: Daughters: Sherry Bland and Shannon Bland both of Broadway, NC.
A Brother: Ray Bland of Chesapeake, VA.; Sisters: Peggy Litchfield & (husband) Benny; Brenda Shumate and Gail Boyle & (husband) Joseph all of Chesapeake, Va.
Grandchildren: Megan Graff-Pittman & Eli of Lake City, Fl.; Emily Graff of Lake City, Fl. Andrew Bland of Wake Forest, NC; Edward Merritt of Broadway, NC; Alana Matthews of Broadway, NC and Aeden Bland of Johnsonville, NC.
