Mr. Lloyd Wade Monds of 105 Daisy Street in Dunn, departed this life on Friday, May 10th 2019 at his home. He was born on July 22, 1947, the son, born unto the union of the late Lawrence Monds and Mattie Bell Monds. In addition to his parents, waiting to greet him in his heavenly home is his beloved daughter: Tammy Lynn Monds.
Lloyd was a good man; one who was kind and gentle, and willing to go the extra mile for anyone who would call upon him for help. He loved his Lord and savior and dedicated his entire life to the service of the God. He got saved when was 17 years of age and he never looked back; he lived this life trusting and leaning upon the Lord for guidance as he walked through this world clinging to the master's hand. He was very dedicated to his church Gospel Tabernacle and was very active in doing any task that needed done for the church; especially if there was food to be cooked. Lloyd loved to cook and his family loved it when he cooked for them; especially when he barbequed a pig, he couldn't be beat! Lloyd met the love of his life, his sweetheart, Mrs. Phyllis in 1964 in the church that they both attended and on July 3, 1966 they wed. The two would go on to spend 52 wonderful years of marriage together. Lloyd loved his wife and was the definition of a good husband as he had always cherished her as one of the best things he had. He always made sure that she had everything that she wanted and needed. As they grew older, side by side, hand in hand; Mrs. Phyllis became unable to cook and work in their home; Lloyd took over with no questions asked and continued to take care of her and the home without grumbling or complaining. He loved his daughter Amy and his grandbabies; they were the light of his life. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor and will be sorely missed.
Left behind to cherish his memory are the following members of his family: His beloved wife of 52 years: Phyllis Strickland Monds of the home in Dunn; Daughter and son in law: Amy and Mark Barbour of Dunn; brothers: James Leo and wife Francis of Clayton, Thomas Earl and wife Aireta of Erwin; sisters: Edna Stanley of Dunn and Brenda Jackson and husband David of Dunn; two grandchildren: Macy Barbour (David Morgan) of Dunn and Jeremy Barbour (Ally Whitaker) of Dunn; two great grandchildren: Gracie Morgan and Maddox Morgan of Dunn.
