Mrs. Patricia Norris Aman, age 77, of Bolivia, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Pat was born August 12, 1941 in Harnett County to the late Joseph Graham Norris, Sr. and the late Uneta Strickland Norris. She was a 1959 graduate of Dunn High School and a charter member of North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church. Pat was the proprietor of Pat’s Grill in Yaupon Beach for most of her working years, but afterward also worked as a secretary for Carolina Power and Light Company for 7 years and then as a bookkeeper for Yaupon Exxon for ten years.
To honor her legacy, Pat is survived by her husband Douglas Franklin Aman, Sr.; son Douglas Franklin Aman, Jr. and wife Kim of Albemarle, NC; daughter Teresa Hewett of Southport, NC; and son Tracy Aman of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. Pat had seven grandchildren: Jared Aman and wife Anna, Garrett Aman, Trevor Aman, Dustin Hewett, Christina Poe, Austin Aman and Brittani Aman. She is also survived by five siblings: sister Peggy Tyson of Dunn; brother Joe Norris, Jr. and wife Barbara of the Mingo community; brother Larry Norris and wife Terry of Dunn; brother Ronnie Norris and wife Joyce of Dunn; and sister Vicky Kight and husband Bob of Dunn.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Pat Aman will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the sanctuary of North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church, 507 N Clinton Ave, Dunn, NC 28334, with Rev. Leon Tart presiding. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Cemetery with Jared Aman, Garrett Aman, Trevor Aman, Austin Aman, Dustin Poe, and Joe Norris III serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ronnie and Joyce Norris, 408 N. Clinton Avenue, Dunn, NC 28334.
