Rev. Stephen Daryl Klass of Fayetteville, formerly of Dunn departed this life on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center being 65 years of age. He was born on November 22, 1952 in Beaufort, South Carolina to the late Stanley William Klass and the late Louise Jones Capps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Cullen R. Parker. Stephen was ordained to preach in September 1973 and was currently serving as pastor of Heritage Church of God in Vass, North Carolina. In 1988 he founded Klass Insurance Agency. Stephen received his Master’s of Divinity Degree from Pentecostal Theological Seminary in 2015. Stephen enjoyed spending his time golfing and tinkering on cars. He loved to play music and was able to play any musical instrument he picked up. He loved life and the color purple. Stephen was an impeccable dresser and loved clothes. Many evenings he could be found at the local movie house watching the latest flick.
Stephen leaves behind to honor his memory his wife Sandra Klass; two daughters: Erica Parker and husband Trent of Dunn and Dana Johnson and husband Stanley of Four Oaks; sister: Karen K. Mabry; four grandchildren: Kinsley Partin, Colby Parker, Grayson Johnson and Claire Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and at other times at 903 Weeks Road, Dunn, NC 28334. A funeral service to commemorate the life of Stephen Daryl Klass will be conducted on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Sansom Community Church with Rev. Steve Sinclair and Rev. Barbara Patterson officiating. He will be laid to rest in Erwin Memorial Park with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
