Mr. Vernon H. Parnell, age 92, of 163 Greenpath Rd., Godwin died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home. Mr. Parnell was born in Johnston County on July 13, 1924 the son of the late Harvey Preston & Lucy Mae Massengill Parnell and is preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Draughon Parnell. Mr. Parnell was the owner of Parnell Electric Co. in Godwin and was a member of Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dan Woods & Rev. Danny Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Falcon Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by: His Wife: Margaret C. Parnell of the home.
