He was born August 19, 1958 in Sampson County, North Carolina the son of the late Paul and Geraldine Brewington. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Brewington.
Joe enjoyed working in his yard, watching his favorite football team the Washington Red Skins, loved westerns like Gunsmoke and was an avid golfer. He was a man of deep faith in the Lord and attended East Carolina Holiness Church in Clinton. Most of all, he was a devoted family man who loved to spend time with his family as much as able and will be deeply missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 17 years, Stella Brewington of Dunn, NC; son, Leslie Paul Brewington and wife Kelly of Sanford, NC; stepson, Antonio Campbell of Dunn, NC; stepdaughter, Eboni Campbell of Fayetteville, NC; brothers, Larry “Rusty” Brewington (Tammy) of Fort Wayne, IN and James “Buddy” Brewington (Cindy) of Clinton, NC; sisters, Linda Rose Brewington of Angier, NC; Juanita Ann Brewington of Clinton, NC and Gloria Sue Brewington of Clinton, NC; grandchildren, Haley, Hunter and Jacob Brewington; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Eastern Carolina Holiness Church, 120 Church Road, Clinton, NC with Pastor Glen Vann officiating. A private interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
